Joongi Kim is Professor of Law at Yonsei Law School in Seoul, Korea. His research focuses on international commercial and investment arbitration, international trade and investment, corporate governance and good governance. His scholarship includes a treatise INTERNATIONAL ARBITRATION IN KOREA (Oxford University Press 2017) for which he received the 11th Simdang International Trade and Business Research Award. He has acted as a presiding arbitrator, sole arbitrator, co-arbitrator and annulment committee member in institutional and ad hoc proceedings under the rules of the ICC, HKIAC, ICSID, JCAA, KCAB, LMAA, SIAC and UNCITRAL. He serves on the panel of arbitrators for the ICSID, Korea-EU FTA, Korea-US FTA, Global Green Growth Institute, AIAC, CAA, CIETAC, CRCICA, HKIAC, JCAA, KCAB, PIAC, RIMA, SCIA, SHIAC, SIAC and VIAC. He serves on the editorial board of International Investment Law and Arbitration (Brill) and Asian Journal of Comparative Law (Cambridge University Press). A visiting professor at Georgetown, Keio, the University of Florida, the National University of Singapore, and the University of Hong Kong, he holds academic degrees from Columbia, Yonsei and Georgetown.
